MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN-DEPTH PACKAGE

There is growing recognition that Management Information Systems, or MIS, play a pivotal role in the implementation of social protection schemes. In fact, programme MIS are increasingly viewed as a central plank that holds together social protection schemes’ core processes i.e. registration, determination of eligibility, payments, complaints & grievances and monitoring and evaluation systems.

The module on “Management Information Systems” provides a definition of MIS in the context of social protection, aims to increase the understanding that national social protection actors have of programme MIS and approaches to integration and supports social protection actors in the preparation of roadmaps for the development of such tools.
